and Nano Systems research axis focuses on the study and integration of materials and microtechnologies for the realization of sensors and devices exploiting physical phenomena related in particular to piezoelectricity, optics and heat.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the path followed by this axis consists in conducting fundamental and applied research from the material to the device in fields as diverse and multidisciplinary as life sciences, energy, defense or aeronautics. This includes theoretical studies and characterization of materials down to the nanometric scale, including microfluidic devices and sensors in harsh environments. The behavior of sensors and materials is modeled and simulated using multiphysics software. In addition, we also develop electronic instrumentation systems adapted to our systems.<\/p>\n<p>3 main research themes are currently developed.  They concern:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chemistry, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies (CNN)<\/li>\n<li>Biomicrofluidics and biophotonics, Micro and Nanosystems for experimental biophysics,<\/li>\n<li>Micro sensors and micro devices based on thermal exchange for applications in severe silicium et autres substrats technologiques pour la r\u00e9alisation de capteurs et de dispositifs pour, par exemple, la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration
